We recently listed some shirts with logos, (Our own) and a day later, all shirts got flagged by google ads for “Disapproved variations”
Someone mentioned to me that it might be because new items need to have a UTC code or something, but I am a horrible rookie when it comes to that and would need it explained.
Can anyone suggest what to do, and is there such a thing as a “tester” where I can test an ad for google-worthiness, before I list it in the future?
Thanks!

Upc or a mpn is needed for new items, Since you make your own items you can buy them, There are sites that offer upc codes for handmade items.
Another option is to go to
Batch Edit
Search Optimize
You will see a box that says add search attributes
in this box
add
[[identifier_[URL removed]
essentially means tha there is no upc for the item
Since you produce the items you could also give them a number (mpn manufacturer product number) and use this in the mpn box provided
And another thing would be use the handmade option under the attributes section..this may by pass the need for the google attributes

If you designed the shirt/product yourself you are better off filling in the MPN code with your inventory number or some other designation. UPC codes are for pre-manufactured shirts published by a company or organization, and from your titles, that may have been flagged. You should also remove the quote marks from the title to make doubly sure. Fill the form in as much as you can in the editing process and then check later to see if Google does it again.

Remember these tips:
- Use links to other sources to support your opinions
- Use examples where possible
- Put yourself in the inquirers shoes: what extra info would be helpful?
Should I post a comment or an answer?
You can only post one answer, so make it count. Maybe your reply is more fitting as a comment instead?
Post an answer for:
- Replies that directly and specifically answer the original question
Post a comment for:
- "Thanks," "Me too," "I agree," or "Works for me" types of replies
- When you would like the original poster to provide more details
- When you have more to add to someone else's question or answer
