Catalog of Refrigerator Hardware
Volume C

Fullerton, PA: The Dent Hardware Company, ca.1925.

First edition.

A catalog for brass, nickel-plated, and galvanized commercial and household refrigerator hardware, from the Dent Hardware Company of Fullerton, Pennsylvania. This lists several types of door fasteners, refrigerator levers, hinges, lid lifts, closers, locking plates, traps, and handles available to customers. There is an index in the front. Judging from its layout and typeset, this was published sometime in the 1920's.

An unusual item in great condition.

The Dent Hardware Company was founded in 1894 by Henry Dent and two other business partners. They started out making brass hardware, which became their business staple. Later they built cast-iron children's toys and refrigeration iceboxes. They became quite famous for their brass icebox hardware. In 1955, Dent Hardware Company became Dent Manufacturing, Inc., and was owned and managed by Henry H. Dent, the grandson of the founder. In 1985, Henry H. sold the company to the Dodge family; and by 2007 the company was restructured as Dent Design Hardware. It is going strong as of this writing. It is undetermined whether the original Henry Dent was related to Thomas and Lancelot Dent of Dent & Company, the early 19th century opium traders.
