Alfred Denison, 1st Baron Londesborough (1805-1860) known as Lord Londesborough, amassed the preeminent collection of classical, medieval and Renaissance antiquities of his time. This illustrated work documents many of the objects which include early chess pieces, jewels, armor, silver, drinking cups, ivory carvings, watches, swords and lots more.
13.5" x 10". Rebound brown leather blind-stamped boards. Illustrated frontispiece, colored illustrated title page, title page, list of plates, 84 pages + 44 plates (12 colored chromolithographs) + 51 pages text (each plate with a description opposite tissue plate guard).
