Sixteen year old Jenny is in Japan looking forward to her first time away from home, for a three month summer vacation with her Grandmother in the very different country of America.  The reader sees the culture of Japan and then the differences of Americans through Jenny's eyes during her visit.

Excellent story of appreciating both new and old ways.

Nicely preserved, clean vintage edition.

Very nearly fine in color illustrated, laminated linen boards with black titles to the front cover and to the spine that shows a touch of yellowing, extra sturdy inner hinges bear a hint of age-toning, front cover art by Evaline Ness, rear cover photo of the author in a Japanese garden.
