Vintage original 11 x 14 in. US lobby card from the classic 1960's French/Italian co-production of FIVE MILES TO MIDNIGHT (original title: Le couteau dans la plaie), released in the US in 1963 by United Artists and directed by Anatole Litvak

As indicated in the center of the bottom border, this is lobby card #1 from the set of 8 cards. The image features a close shot of Sophia Loren lying in bed as she gazes at the viewer . It is unrestored in very good- condition only as shown with a Canadian censor stamp.

The film takes place primarily in Paris. Lisa (Sophia Loren) is Italian; Robert (Anthony Perkins) is American. Immediately after Lisa declares that she is leaving her immature, abusive, but easy-going husband Robert, he is reported dead in a plane crash. Secretly still alive, he convinces her to collect his life insurance, although she knows that it's a bad idea. Lisa must contend with the complications of the scheme, which involve an aggressive suitor (Gig Young), Robert's jealousy, and her own guilt. Eventually, the stress of putting up with Robert is too much for Lisa, and she runs over him and disposes of the body and car in a lake. The suitor realizes what she did as she has a mental breakdown and calls the police.
