The crimson king maple is a rare and unique deciduous tree that shows color for most of the year. Its leaves are deep purple in late spring to early fall and then evolve into bright yellow during the fall color change. The crimson king make for great shade trees and also do very well as bonsai specimens. These seeds will require a period of cold stratification.
