The Lancaster Bomber was an amazingly big and strong 4 engine bomber design and used very effectively, by the British to bomb Germany into submission by night. By the wars end, the Lancaster was dropping the biggest bombs of the war. The bomb was called the "Earthquaker" because of it's massive weight and damage.. It was a mammoth bomb weighing 22,000 Lbs. It was these bombs that also sunk the mighty battleship Tirptz. We hope that you will enjoy this DVD. 1st Film: "Sky Giant". This is a great and RARE film created by the British Government on the Great Avro Lancaster and the folks who built and flew her. This bomber went night after night, in many daring raids during WW2. A great story and Great footage and great historical film. Amazing stuff. Runtime 10:03 Min's 2nd Film: "Night and Day". This is a collection of newsreels and stories of how the British RAF fought Night and Day to beat the Germans. Stories like; 1st Mosquito's and Lancaster raids. 2nd; RAF Blasts Germany. 3rd; RAF Blasts Factories. 4th; Hamburg Bombed. 5th; Ike inspects RAF, then bomb Germany. 6th; Lancaster Breakthrough. 7th; Open warfare on France. 8th; RAF blast Nazi Army. 9th; Dresden Blasted. 10th; Rhine Barrier blasted. 11th; Ruhr industry destroyed. Wow. Runtime around 37:39 Min's 3rd Film: "Bombs and Supplies". This film is extraordinary collection on the bombs and supplies the Avro Lancaster loaded in her bomb bay. Plus used as taxi (tow) for the Horsa Glider. Great RAF stuff. A must see. Runtime 12:15 Min's 4th Film: "Death of the Tirpitz". This film shows the story of the mighty Tirpitz from her launching to her destruction by the RAF. Using the "Earthquake Bombs" and multiple attempts, the RAF Lancaster's finally sink the Tirpitz. Runtime 6:33 Min's 5th Film; "RAF Bomber School". This an RCAF film on training men to be pilots in the RAF. Another title is "Into the Blue". See the cadets go through there training from the Tiger Moth to the SNJ AT-6 Texan, and on to the Lancaster. Runtime 10:03 Min's 6th Film; "Dover". I think all of British folks have seen or heard about this film. It is a short version of the great "Battle of Britain". Well worth seeing again. If it was not for the British holding out against Hitler, our world could have been a very different place. Thanks Brits. Runtime 9:36 Min's 7th Film; "A Message from Malta". This is a story most folks don't know about. The battle for Malta. The British held out for over a year with the folks of Malta in great defiance to German Luftwaffe and Hitler. With only a few RAF planes to fight back and very limited supplies, the Island held. Hitler was furious and bombed the island almost daily, but the Brits and the islanders held on. Amazing story.
