Ty Beanie Baby 6-Inch "Claude the Crab" Collection - Unique Coloring with Tag Errors
This Claude the Crab has been in storage for quite a while, as we have been cleaning out and clearing out excess office and inventory items.
It is the 6-inch type all original, with Tush-tag and the Swing-tag. The Registered Trade Mark (TM) is after the word Collection and "R" after the TY logo. They just call it "Claude", and on the little beanie baby Claude, they call that "Claude the Crab". Just a less description of the toy, an interesting point.
Interesting in that "this" Claude has a unique coloration, more vibrant, than the other Claude. Both styles are #4083, same UPC, but the Swing-Tags are greatly different. We have the other style Claude in another listing.
The Tush tag reads: Copyright 1996 Ty Inc., Oakbrook, IL USA; P.V.C Pellets; Reg. No. PA 1965 (KR), which means for the Korean market. The Tush tag errors are: 1) No comma between Ty and inc.; 2) there should not be a comma after inc.; 3) The "A" on U.S.A is missing a period; 4) PVC should not have periods. For both USA and PVC, the convention is to use periods for all, or omit them all, this is a mix.
The Swing-Tag Errors: 1) Period after IL (Oakbrook, IL"." U.S.A.); 2) Missing Comma between Oakbrook and IL; 3) Should have a period between Ty and inc. 4) Should have a comma between Ty and UK Ltd.; 5) Should have a comma between Ty and Deutschland; 6) Missing UK after it reads: Waterlooville, Hants PO8 8HH; 7) Missing Germany or its abbreviation after it reads: 900008 Nurnberg; then, 8) the Date of Birth is hyphenated (9-3-96) instead of reading September 3, 1996; 9) There are (3) exclaimation points after the word "web page!!!" instead of one; and, 10) They put "http://" as part of the website address (although not wrong, all other Ty products just note it as www.ty.com).
This item is more of a collectible than a playable toy. It is rare, collectible, and has some value, hence the offering price. If you want a treasure to seal away, this is one to consider...
