This is a sweet red or amberina glass hen on a nest dish. She was made in China and imported by A. A. Imports, at some point in the past 50 years.

There are some manufacturing flaws, mainly on the tail. The glass is extra-smooth in the area around her tail, and the split tail is sort of filled in with extra glass. Then, of course, the obvious bead at the point of the tail. Also on the eggs at the hen’s right side of her head there is extra glass on the mold seam and the glass is extra-smooth. On the base there is extra glass on the top of the scallops, and it’s a little rough there. There is no damage to this hen. The roughness is from the factory unmolding process.

The base measures just a slight bit under 6 inches long, and 4 7/8 inches wide. The dish is about 5 3/4 inches tall at the tail.  The HON dish weighs 1 pound 8 1/2 ounces before packing for shipping, which means it will ship in the 3 pound rate.
