Brand new factory sealed vhs tapes. Parts 1 (special edition) & 2 are the newer packaging with big upc code security strips on the back. Part 3 is an older release pre-watermarks but is factory sealed by way of the cellophane security strip down the back.
SUPERMAN the movie: This is the special edition remastered with 8 minutes of added footage not seen before. Before the film this also has the original theatrical trailer and never-before-seen screen test for the roles of Superman & Lois Lane.
DC Comics legend comes to life in this wonderfully entertaining saga from his being a baby on the doomed planet Krypton (with Brando as Supe's dad) to Earth's own Man of Steel (a chiseled Reeve). Gene Hackman and Ned Beatty pair marvelously as super criminal Lex Luthor and his bumbling sidekick Otis, while Margot Kidder is an intelligent Lois Lane.
SUPERMAN II: This time he has his hands full with three super-powered villains from his home planet of Krypton. The romance between reporter Lois Lane and our superhero is made believable and the story line has more pace to it than the original. A sequel that often equals the first film--leave it to Superman to pull off the impossible.
SUPERMAN III: A satire that fans couldn't embrace. Too joky this is the odd man out in the series. Later releases would hide the fact that this is a comedy (!?) by changing the cover art without Richard Pryor. Villainous businessman Ross Webster (Robert Vaughn) via the bumbling slapstick computer expert Gus Gorman (Pryor) and the judicious use of an artificial form of Kryptonite, try to conquer Superman.
Superman explores his dark comedy side after undergoing transformation from the synthetic Kryptonite. He decides 'he isn't going to do that nice stuff anymore' and does stuff like straighten up the Tower of Piza, blowing out the Olympic torch, and other jackass sight gags. He eventually splits mentally and physically (!?) into good vs. bad super personnas to battle himself and eventually he pull's himself together for a final battle with the villains.
