This special one-shot issue was published as part of the 30th Anniversary Celebration of the Invincible Iron Man. This Ultimate Operations Handbook illustrates and describes in detail Iron Man's suits and armor components through the years, including notes from the perspective of Tony Stark himself.

The inside front cover lists the credits for the story and dedicates this issue to the STS-51-L Challenger crew. The inside back cover includes a short essay from Stan Lee.

The back cover features six sketches of Shell-Head's helmet.
