This is a 1960s soap dish or trinket dish made entirely of seashells. It is quite large and well made. The dish is made of a Tridacna clam shell which is a soft white with brown stripes on the outside and pure white on the inside. Smaller shells with pink and gray tones are cut and glued to form a decorative handle. #27172
CONDITION: This item is used but is in very good condition with no damage I can find other than the natural features of the shells.
SIZE: This piece is about 6" wide, 4 3/8" deep, and 2 1/2" tall.
BACKGROUND: This is one of a number of things I recently purchased from a retired teacher neighbor before she moved away from our 55 and over community to live with her son. She had many beautiful gifts from students as well as things she purchased on summer trips. I'll be listing more of her things over the next several weeks.
