Vinyl plays with occasional light-crackles (play-graded). Cover looks great; a few creases near edges and scuffing (front/back); small surface abrasions near bottom-left and faint surface impressions on front. Inner-sleeve is original (RCA care instructions), with two seams partly split near center. Spine is somewhat easy-to-read with wear, especially near top. Heavy shelf-wear along top/bottom-edge; split near center along bottom-edge. Wear to corners. Opening is crisp with signs of use and divots.

He's the King and His Band is the first album by Al Hirt to be released by RCA Victor. The album reached No. 61 on the Billboard Top LPs chart in 1961. Some classic numbers assembled on this collection include: I Love Paris, One O'Clock Jump, The Jitterbug Waltz, and Jazz Me Blues. Hirt was an American trumpeter and bandleader. He had recorded most of his best-selling recordings with RCA Victor and spent most of his professional recording career with the label that had dubbed him with another moniker: The King. Hirt was inducted into The Louisiana Music Hall of Fame and received 21 Grammy nominations during his lifetime, including winning the Grammy award in 1964 for his version of Java.
