Green Globe Artichoke (Cynara scolymus) is what you will more than likely find in your local market or restaurant. Considered a perennial in warmer regions and an annual in colder, plants will grow up to 6' tall and produce silver-green leaves. The artichokes that are harvested will be 3"-5" in diameter with very flavorful hearts. Green Globe Artichoke is best grown in zones 6-12 where the winters are mild and the summers are moist. Best suited for harvest on second year
