The Callaway FT-5 driver uses Fusion Technology to move discretionary weight around to produce different Center of Gravity configurations. The face of the club is at the limit for Characteristic Time, the measure of how "hot" it is, to give the fastest possible ball speed. The shape and weighting of the FT-5 increases the Moment of Inertia to reduce twisting at impact and thus increases forgiveness.
The new FT-5 and FT-5 Tour Drivers are the latest evolution in clubhead design utilizing our revolutionary Fusion® Technology. A massive 50 grams of discretionary weight has been created using a Carbon Fiber Body — creating the OptiFit™ Weighting System that produces three center of gravity configurations: Draw, Neutral and Fade, enabling golfers to choose a combination to best suit their individual game. The larger, more robust CT/VFT Titanium cup face is designed to the legal limit, as defined by the USGA Characteristic Time test, resulting in increased ball speed, distance and forgiveness — even on miss-hits. The FT-5 Tour Driver has a slightly open face for a look preferred by more accomplished players. The end result is exceptional distance, performance, accuracy and confidence.
Fusion Technology
Proprietary Fusion Technology creates an unprecedented 50 grams of discretionary weight which is strategically positioned for a high Moment of Inertia and precise lateral location of the center of gravity. This provides exceptional stability on off-center hits, while enabling ball flight customization for optimal individual performance. The 25-gram weight located at the rear of the driver lowers the CG for optimal trajectory.
OptiFit Weighting System
Enables golfers to customize their driver by giving them three CG locations to choose from in most lofts: Draw for promoting a draw or reducing a slice/fade; Neutral for maximum workability; or Fade for promoting a fade or reducing a hook/draw.
CT/VFT Titanium Cup Face
Modified version of VFT® Technology in which face thicknesses are designed specifically to maximize performance under the new USGA Characteristic Time test, resulting in a larger, more robust face for increased ball speed on shots hit all over the face.
460cc head design
A 460cc head volume is incorporated with a longer, wider and hotter face for more confidence at address, a higher MOI and increased ball speed for longer, straighter drives.
Carbon Composite Body
The material used to make the body is significantly lighter than titanium, allowing Callaway Golf engineers to move 50 grams of discretionary weight where it is needed most, resulting in better stability and distance.
The lightweight carbon body means weight is concentrated at the front and back of the head, which makes for a stable, consistent design. This translates into great performance and the best acoustics we’ve ever heard from a carbon driver.
With both Callaway carbon drivers carrying shots over 295 yards, we reckon the company has been working to find extra power for everyday golfers.
The Callaway Fusion FT-5 Driver is a traditionally-shaped titanium and carbon composite driver, with 50g of discretionary weight and Opti-Fit weighting system.
Features and Benefits of the Callaway FT-5 Draw driver include a Titanium and carbon composite combine to save 50 grams of discretionary weight that is repositioned to help optimize your drives. A Larger, high velocity face enable you to choose a powerful combination of accuracy and distance to get the best out of your game. 25-gram weight lowers the center of gravity for optimal trajectory while Fusion technology provides stability on off-center hits. The 460cc head has been manufactured with a longer, wider and hotter face for more confidence at address.
The all new Callaway FT-5 driver has been launched to maximize the Fusion Technology in the traditional shape. The use of titanium and carbon combine to form a composite which save a massive 50gms of discretionary weight. This corrects or enhances the shape of your golf shot. A larger, high velocity face and OptiFit choices of Draw or Neutral, enable golfers to choose a powerful combination of accuracy and distance to get the best out of their individual game.
The FT-5 Driver is engineered to be the worlds fastest driver. Creating a massive 50gms of discretionary weight for increased distance, accuracy and shot-shaping.

Review: "If you ever get a chance to pick one of these up at a good price... jump on it. This driver is amazing. the ball jumps off the face with a beautiful ball flight. Looong, so long. I recently bought a TaylorMade '07 burner, and this club puts it to shame. I took the burner to the range the day after I bought it, and it hit okay, but not once did I fly the 250 sign on the range. Also, the sound was piercing my eardrums. I got my FT-5 off (in great shape) and took it out to the same range. After hitting just one ball (though it leaked right on me), it was clear that this driver was in a different class than any TaylorMade I've ever hit. I flew that 250 sign over 20 times out of a bucket of 70 balls. The feel is amazing, the sound is perfect, the driver is very aesthetically pleasing, as well. I am now looking for a 3 wood to match, and will definitely purchase another FT-5 just for back up if I can get it at a good price. if you are on the fence about this driver, just buy it, you will not regret it. Best golf purchase I've made to date. I understand how Phil is averaging over 300 yards now."
Callaway FT-iz 5 Wood
The Callaway FT-iZ fairway wood uses aerodynamic design and multi-material construction to provide an efficient, high Moment of Inertia club. This fairway wood is a great option for any golfer looking for added consistency, distance and forgiveness in lieu of total shot shape control. The Fusion technology that uses aluminum, carbon fiber, steel and titanium creates optimal weight placement for better feel, inertia and distance.
The FT-iZ Fairway Woods build on Callaway's industry-leading heritage in the category. Offering an unprecedented combination of distance, stability and feel, the FT-iZ Fairway Woods are the longest, straightest fairway woods Callaway has ever produced. Like the FT-iZ Driver, the fairway woods utilize Polar Weighting for a heavy face and heavy in-line power source that delivers screaming ball speed.
Review: "The Callaway FT-iZ fairway wood performed very well in our tests. The sound and feel at impact was lovely and despite the weight being lower and further back in the head, the flight was very good too.
We weren’t completely bowled over by the head shape but that is very much a matter of personal opinion and the FT-iZ is by no means the worst looking fairway wood available.
Despite our reservations over the shape the FT-iZ sat very well behind the ball on the fairway and in the semi and didn't look forbidding even on some tight links lies that we tried.
Performance is everything and we struggled to find fault in that department and we’d certainly rate the FT-iZ as one of the best composite fairway woods on the market today."
At first glance you may think that the Callaway FT i-brid irons are for high handicappers only.
True, they are very forgiving and easy to hit, so if you struggle with normal irons then the FT i-brid's could be the ones for you. The trajectory produced right through the set is very good and not the high ballooning shot sometimes found in this category of iron.
The feel was surprisingly good and at address they looked OK despite extra weight at the back of the head and they were extremely forgiving.
The longer irons would actually make great hybrid clubs as part of a larger set, so whilst mid or even low handicappers would not be seen dead with these at 7-PW, they would be wise to swallow their pride and have a go at some of the longer irons as they are a joy to hit.
