Jacket in near find condition in original shrink wrap. Paper sleeve creased at the corners for insertion in the jacket, with some wrinkling and toning. Discs are without visible blemish and will grade in the E range. Some scuffing from the spindle on the label. C122918
We received a large donation of gospel music recently which included a number of Rex Humbard releases. I believe this came from the estate of one of his radio room engineers or disc jockeys. We have been unable to confirm.
The record seems to be rather rare: it is not listed in Discogs, MusicBrainz or Both Sides Now. Google turned up blank on the singers. Unlike others in this collection, we did find something on the Singing Weavers. They still perform, like the Happy Goodmans, and are now in their 4th Generation. Verlin Weaver, cited on the back liner notes, started the group in 1971. Because of their proximity to the Humbard campus, it is likely they started there: other country gospel singing groups have sprouted here under the guidance of Earl Weatherford, most notably the Cathedral Quartet.
