The Little Day Dreamer

is the name of the Bing & Grondahl (B&G) 2022 Children's Day Plate, the 38th plate in the series that began in 1985. A young boy is shown sitting at a table doing his schoolwork while he dreams of being outside playing soccer. Once again, artist Sven Vestergaard has created a design inspired by the wondrous world of children. The scene is molded into the porcelain and hand painted in traditional Copenhagen blue under the glaze. Diameter just over 5 inches (13 cm). MSRP (Manufacturer’s Suggested Retail Price) was $85; my price is about half of that.

This year, Children’s Day will be celebrated in the US on Sunday, June 9, 2024.
