BING & GRONDAHL (B&G)

Rebild National Park Plate

Featuring a view of the log cabin at Rebild National Park on the Jutland Peninsula in Denmark. The initial 200 acres of the park were purchased in 1911 with money raised by Danish Americans, and presented as a gift to the state of Denmark in 1912 as the first Danish National Park. It is the site of the largest annual 4th of July celebration held outside the United States. The log cabin is meant to be evocative of Abraham Lincoln’s birthplace, and flies both the Danish and the American flags.

The design is embossed on Danish porcelain and hand painted in traditional Copenhagen cobalt blue under the glaze. Diameter approximately 5.75 inches, fully marked on the back including the three tower trademark of B&G.  Pierced foot for hanging wire. Undated, but the mark indicates that it was made in the 1950s or 1960s.

EXCELLENT CONDITION (no chips, cracks, or repairs) and FIRST QUALITY (no scratch through trademark).
