Wood turned vase handmade on the lathe using repurposed Cherry from the Adirondacks.

On this vase, I first turned the overall shape I had in mind and carved grooves around the vase. Then next step was to do a deep resin pour so that to fill the grooves and I then turned again on the lathe both outside the vase to just leave resin in location of the grooves as well as inside the vase to also get to the resin so that the grooves to show light through.

The finish is first done on the lathe with a mixture of shellac and boiled linseed oil using a friction polish technique to provide a light glossy appearance and then a thin coat of polyurethane is applied for durability. The interior is not made to hold water and if desired, a smaller glass or plastic vase can be inserted to be then able to display fresh flowers.

The LED light string battery-operated inside the vase as shown on the pictures is included in the price and can be very easily removed if desired.

Each piece is custom designed in term of shape and wood pattern with each listing being unique and to be removed when sold, making it truly one of a kind. And it can be further personalized for free by adding a wood engraved short message on the bottom of the piece. Just contact me to define the details.

The little imperfection of the wood and of its natural grain, which I am trying to show as much as possible through the different pictures displayed, is what is giving character to this piece. And I am doing my best to describe and show this piece (and feel free to contact me if you would like any more information or pictures) but if this piece when received does not meet your expectations, then please let me know and return it for refund or replacement
