Description
This is a fabulous vintage 1960s Hawaiian maxi dress by Pomare' Tahiti Honolulu Hawaii.
Marked a size 8, but more like a modern XS. 34" bust. Shown on a size 2 dress form, and it fits like a glove. Please check measurements to best estimate fit.
Cotton barkcloth.
Wonderful tiki / tribal print in brown, black, white, yellow, orange, green, gray and tan.
Wide slightly scooped neck.
Curved yoke.
Sleeveless.
Very fitted through the torso with multiple long darts and princess seams.
Flared skirt.
The back is striking - deep scooped back neck, and then pleats for a full draped back.
Inside, there are ties to create a perfect fit through the torso to create a nipped waist in front, in contrast to the draped back.
Back nylon zip.
Unlined. No pockets.
Hanger loops.
In remarkable vintage condition - looks like new. No damage. Truly exceptional! Clean, neatly pressed, and ready to wear.
