Frankincense (Boswellia) is extracted from a resin extracted from the bark of a tree that grows mainly in African Arab countries and India.
The plant is commonly used mainly to treat arthritis or chronic inflammation and to relieve asthma symptoms.
A study of asthma patients found that patients taking Boswellia reported improvement in respiration and reduction of asthma attacks. Thus, frankincense resin has the advantage nowadays in relieving the breathing difficulties that exist through the mechanism of action of Boswellia acids in resin.
Boswellia extract allows for the rapid absorption of the resin.
