There are so many uses for this perennial it is unreal. As the name touts, Prunella Vulgaris is most widely known as "Heal All". It is cultivated widely for it's medicinal properties. The entire plant (from the roots to the flower head) is 100% edible. The plant's most common use is for cold sores of the mouth and throat. However, it is also widely used as an antiseptic, for fevers, as an expectorant, as a liver cleanser, to loosen phlem and to kill germs. Likewise, many turn to All-Heal Prunella Vulgaris during the flu season.
There are many other uses too! Open up just about any alternative medicine book and you'll be sure to find mention of Prunella Vulgaris that has been backed with centuries of use for both internal and external applications! All in all an excellent addition to your medicinal herb garden.
