This is one of Anchor Hocking's lesser-known patterns. They named
it Classic, and it was made around 1964-1969. The Classic snack plates
are probably more commonly recognized than the big bowls and platter.
This pattern was also made in milk glass with 22k gold trim, and in
Royal Ruby. (Hazel Marie Weatherman nicknamed the Royal Ruby set,
"Rachael," but the manufacturer's name for it was Classic.)
This
is one of my favorite patterns -- but I've collected too many, so am
trying to thin down my collection. I have one large clear salad bowl
available. I also have the large platter in another listing, and will
be adding a few other pieces to my listings, as I have time.
The bowl is 11 inches wide and 5 inches tall. It has a very attractive scalloped
pattern around the bowl, and a multi-pointed star or zigzag base. The bowl weighs nearly 4 pounds before packing for shipping. The bowl is in great condition, with no damage and some light signs of use. My last three photos show the bowl and underplate. They are sold
separately, though. The underplate/platter is in listing # 266966051144.
This
will be shipped by either UPS Ground or USPS Ground Advantage rate
(except for International). Local delivery is always available for free
to a mutually agreed upon meeting place. This cannot be shipped by UPS
to a post office box. Please contact me before purchase, if you need to
have it shipped to a PO Box.
I am happy to answer your questions about this piece.
