This is a lot of five hardback books (with jackets) from the Best-In-Books collection, all published by Nelson Doubleday, Inc. in the 1950s. All the books measure approximately 8.5 inches x 5.0 inches. They collect the "best" writing of the time; some of the writing included is unabridged, while others are abridged. Some is fiction, some is non-fiction. There are even some comics from that time. In addition to the books, you will also receive an old payment coupon and return envelope from that time period - a pretty nifty little artifact!
All the books are in good condition, especially considering their age. They all have dust jackets that have wear and creasing. The first blank page (endpaper) of each book has some light browning / foxing (see picture for example). Other defects will by noted below. You will receive the following:

1955 (there is a 14 on the copyright page) - includes: The Virginia Exiles by Elizabeth Gray Vining (complete novel), Do It Yourself by Brickman (cartoon feature), The Rice-Sprout Song by Eileen Chang (full novel), Man Meets Dog by Konrad Z. Lorenz (excerpt), Louisiana edited by A. Milton Runyon and Vilma F. Bergane, James Street's South edited by James Street, Jr. (excerpt), How to Live 365 Days a Year by John A. Schindler, M.D. (excerpt). Condition notes -- the general condition above plus several small nicks / tears on the edges of the jacket. The back of the jacket has some light brown smudging. There are a couple of small spots / stains on the top edge. The spine tilts slightly.

The spine tilts slightly.
1958 (there is a 28 on the copyright page) - includes: The Wind in the Forest by Inglis Fletcher (complete novel), Dandelion Wine by Ray Bradbury (excerpt), Good Ol' Charlie Brown by Charles M. Schultz (cartoon feature, Dr. Schindler's Woman's Guide to Better Living by John A. Schindler, M.D. (excerpt). Condition notes -- the general condition above plus some pretty bad tearing on the dust jacket near the spine area (see picture). There are also a few small spots / stains on the top edge.
