Here is a beautiful Vaseline glass candle holder for votive or tealight candles. It could also have other uses, such as toothpick holder, etc.

Confederate Glass Works was a brand used by Crescent Glass (who changed their name to Brooke Glass in 1980). I don't know the exact age of this piece, but I believe that these were probably made in the 1970s. Although this doesn't have a maker's sticker, I know it is by Confederate Glass Works because I have a copy of the Confederate Glass Works ad that shows it.

The candle holder is 3 1/2 inches tall and 2 1/2 inches wide. Confederate called this pattern "Quilt," but since there are beads between the quilt blocks, I call it Beaded Quilt. It weighs 9.2 ounces. It glows wonderfully in black light! There is some molding roughness on one of the beads around the top rim, where some extra glass was left on the end of the mold seam, but it has no damage. It is in excellent condition with no chips, cracks, scratches or damage.

It is genuine Vaseline glass, because it is yellow and glows in black light. Vaseline glass is ONLY YELLOW uranium glass, because the nickname was given to yellow glass that resembled the color of the original Vaseline Petroleum Jelly (made before the 1960s). Other colors of uranium glass are not Vaseline glass because they are not that yellow color.
