All You Need:
Saucepan
Large jug
Large bowl (2L)
1 Pint of milk
2 Tbsp of sugar
Make It Special: Experiment with skimmed, semi-skimmed, whole, coconut, or almond milk for your personalized custard. Adjust milk quantity for desired consistency. Tailor sweetness by adding more or less sugar.
On the Hob:
Mix 2 heaped tbsp (35g) of custard powder with 2 tbsp (35g) of sugar in a saucepan.
Add a little cold milk (approx. 2 tbsp) to form a smooth paste, then stir in the remainder of the milk.
Heat, stirring continuously, until gently boiling.
Microwave (800W, Cat E):
Mix custard powder and sugar in a large bowl (at least 2L).
Add a little cold milk to form a smooth paste, then stir in the remainder of the milk.
Heat on full power for 6 minutes, whisking/stirring halfway and at the end.
