About the item:

From out of Germanic folklore comes this stunning print by Megan Wyreweden.  Interpreting "The Wild Hunt," Wyreweden creates an image eerie yet somewhat whimsical - dark but fun - as skeletal shapes chase their unseen prey.  Measuring 8 by 10 inches, the print is in nm/mint and undisplayed condition, it will be shipped with the utmost care. Please note- the signature is real. It is the actual, hand-signed signature of Wyreweden. It is not a pre-printed image on the print.

About The Wild Hunt:

A folklore motif occurring across various northern European cultures, "The Wild Hunt" often involve a chase led by a either a mythological, historical, or legendary figure escorted by a ghostly or supernatural group of hunters.  This spectral party can pursue unnamed prey, a young woman or even female demons.  Among the most famous renderings of the Wild Hunt include Friedrich Wilhelm Heine's 1882 "Wodan's Wild Hunt" and Peter Nicolai Arbo's 1872 Asgårdsreien (The Wild Hunt of Odin).
