How to get great results from your Sketching Made Easy:

1.Practice drawing a value scale using each of the 6 pencils, Using

different hardness of pencil leads will create different value ranges.

The pencils range from 3H to 6B, with 3H being the hardest lead to

6B being the softest lead. The harder the lead, the lighter the pencil

mark and the softer the lead the darker the pencil mark.

2 Drawing Tips - Don't over-work areas. To keep your drawing fresh,

work out techniques or problem areas on scratch paper instead of

drawing/erasing over and over on the real drawing . f you are right

handed, draw from the right side to left. This will help keep your

finished areas from smudging. Also draw background to foreground

order (draw the sky first, then the middle ground, and finish with the

foreground or front). Use a piece of paper under your hand to

protect what you've already drawn.

3. Build areas up slowly. Control the direction of your marks. Don't

let your shading just follow the curve of the object. Use the direction

of your marks to describe your object.
