The pages are crisp, white and clean. No creases, writing, underlining or signs of handling. The jacket has a hint of shelf-wear but looks close to new. The boards are lightly scraped at the bottom corners from contact with a shelf. Even so, I feel this book is nice enough to be given as a gift. This book traces the life and work of an exceptional artist who died at the age of 48 in 1934. There are more than 100 photographs, mostly black-and-white but a few in color. This 9-5/8" x 11-3/4" hardcover of sculpture includes excellent notes on the works including sizes, locations and where the pieces were exhibited, together with a chronology and bibliography. There is also some correspondence, some of it from previously unpublished sources. Hardcover, 143 pgs.
