We have just acquired this beautiful 1/48 scale North American P-51 Mustang diecast aircraft model Warbird by Franklin Mint, Armour Collection. It is done up in the livery of "Moonbeam McSwine" 414237 from the USAAF 8th AF, 352nd FG, 487th FS piloted by Capt. William T. Whisner. The Fighter group was famously known as "the Blue-nosed Bastards of Bodney". Capt. Whisner was credited with 15 1/2 aerial victories, making him a triple Ace. He went on to become an Ace in the Korean War as well, flying the F-86 Sabre. This livery is very rare and desirable.
One of our long-time customers has retired, and is down-sizing. He has provided us with a large collection of beautiful mahogany desk models, as well as a large variety of unbuilt vintage model kits. The model is in beautiful condition, and does not look like it has ever been displayed. It comes in original packaging with COA. The box has very minimal shelf wear.
