What is Cluckin' Good Chick Grit?
A Supplement for Poultry
Grit is necessary for the healthy development of a chicken’s gizzard. The gizzard aids in digestion, & allows for maximum nutrient benefit from whole grain feeds. Made up of insoluble crushed rock, grit remains in the bird’s gizzard to help with digestion and grind food as it passes through. Grit comes in various sizes for different birds depending on size and age. Grit is an essential part of your bird’s diet and should always be provided, especially if there is no access to small, sharp rocks.
- Use with poultry less than approximately 8 weeks old
- Made up of insoluble crushed quartzite and granite
- Baby chicks and turkey poults can mistake grit for feed with damaging results. Help them establish correct feeding habits by sprinkling grit over their feed mash for the first week or two.
