There are sooooooooooooo many Starbucks mugs out there, it staggers the imagination! A great many of these mugs depict exotic cityscapes, coffee varieties, holiday themes, artsy-fartsy designs, and so on, and so on, and so on. And then there's this mug. It's a solid, straight-forward, no-nonsense, in-the-trenches, ever-so-slightly over-sized, CLASSIC Starbucks Coffee mug.

Those other mugs are for show, but this mug is for go. In fact, it's been on duty for some time. It shows years of usage in the light abrasion marks (particularly along the lip and base) from brushing against other mugs in the cupboard or other debris on the desk or counter. Oh, they're not screaming black lines or anything (as the photos show), but rather they're quiet testaments to countless mornings on deck with piping-hot motivation. The inside has very very faint scores (3, I think) that were not made by spoon-action. I can't imagine what made them, as they're at different levels, evenly spaced, and parallel to the base - it almost looks factory, but that seems silly. There's also a faint score in the glazing 1/2" from the edge of the logo at the 1 o'clock position (1st photo). It's not visible in the photo, but it's there. There are no cracks in this old soldier.

A photo shows the base of the cup with kiln and print stampings. The print is obviously far worn, but is the classic logo and reads: "Made Exclusively for Starbucks Coffee Company." The kiln markings read: "MADE IN THE USA" and "CATALINA." There is also "TM" and what appears to be an eagle's head.

Dimensions:
3 15/16" Tall
3 3/8" Mouth Diameter
4 7/8" Wide at Handle

I have tried in vain to nail down an approximate year of production for this mug, but I've not yet found the fanatic that's listed every Starbucks cup, its year of production, etc. I really believe it's last century, but I haven't documentation to back that belief. Anyway, if this is the type of Starbucks mug you've been looking for, then you're in luck - because here it is!
