This obscure little children's novel was first published in 1879. I've dated this early printing at 1886, based on a publisher's ad at the back, stating "HARPER'S YOUNG PEOPLE, bound...Vol. VI. just ready." (contained issues from 1884-85) Bumped cover corners, spine end wear, small bump on bottom edges, spotting on front cover and some pages, with perhaps a bit of small foxing; moderately toned pages; writing on blank page (apparently a man gifting his used copy to a girl); most of the 10 b&w illustrations have been partially colored by a child (one completely colored), quite nicely, I think. 124 pages, plus 4 pages of publisher's ads. Rather uncommon title.
