These handmade copper earrings feature wire wrapped dark blue natural stone beads (goldstone and agate) handing from antique copper-plated brass chain in a chandelier style. Medium gauge copper wire is carefully formed into a frame and hammered by hand to flatten and strengthen. The fine gauge copper wire is used to wrap stone beads to the frame, large blue goldstone centered with smaller dark blue lapis on either side, and finally antique copper-plated metal beads on the ends. The frame hangs from antique copper-plated brass chain. The ear wires are made by hand from copper wire. These earrings have a very elegant and old world look.
Copper - I use natural 100% copper wire to create copper jewelry items. It is not treated with a lacquer or wax. Copper naturally oxidizes over time and develops a patina. Some people love that look and some prefer to keep it shiny. Slow the oxidization process by wiping your copper jewelry with a soft clean cloth before and after each use to keep it clean. You can easily clean oxidized copper jewelry and return it to bright and shiny by soaking it in a mixture of lemon juice and salt for 30-60 seconds, rinse with water, and dry. Try it with a penny.
