Uncle Jack could really tell some spellbinding tales about the early frontier days in Montana. Many an evening while we were sitting around the campfire after a day's gold panning or fishing, he would spin his yarns that magically took you back to the 1880's. He was born April 12, 1876 in Republic Territory, Kansas; and named John Stolp Tracy, after his father. However, he was called Jack instead of John, Jr. He died in the Old Soldiers Home in Sheridan, Wyoming in November, 1964.He was a jack of all trades, and master of some!
