Here is your opportunity to own and play this fine antique French master violin made by Dominique Salzard (1801-1875) in Mirecourt circa 1830.  Dominique Salzard, brother of François Salzard, was living in Mirecourt in the first part of 19th century.

COMES WITH THE CERTIFICATE OF AUTHORITY!  It looks fabulous despite its old age. Simply fantastic.

The top is made of two pieces of spruce, and shows very thin and regular grain lines. The back is made of one piece of a highly flamed maple, the beautiful curl slightly ascending from the left to the right. The ribs, neck and head are of the same wood, and original. The varnish, of a golden color, is entirely original and in a perfect state of preservation. The purfling is beautifuly inlaid and ends with nice bee stings, the f holes are well made in the Didier Nicolas Ainé style. The edges and corners work are masterly made.

The violin has just a little repair above the left f hole, and another marginal crack at the right of the lower saddle. Otherwise it is a mint condition, really stunning for its age. The short fingerboard and the neck are original (very rare), and the neck is unbroken.

The violin has been newly set-up, including new pegs, new chinrest and tailpiece, new Despiau bridge and Thomastik Dominant new strings.

On the inside back can be found the original fire brand "D.Salzar". The violin is guaranteed 100% original and authentic.

Body length: 363 mm; Upper bouts: 169 mm; Middle bouts : 118 mm; Lower bouts: 212 mm.

The sound of this instrument is mature, powerful and projective, very responsive, and will allow you the most complete repertoire. A great French concert violin !

A wonderful instrument for a sophisticated collector, an experienced musician, a special gift to your loved one or an upcoming musician.  An appreciating asset.  The price keeps going higher and higher. because (1) of the higher demand and limited supply (they don't make any more 188 year old violins), (2) ongoing inflation of 15% and more, (3) ongoing currency debasement.  Buy it NOW because its the best thing you can do.  I may trade it with Real Property (and pay the difference).

If you are a musician, this will be your retirement plan.  Play now and sell in 20, 30, 40 years and retire with the proceeds. Also, you better buy NOW otherwise you will not be able to buy in the future as the prices go up.

NOTE:  Serious inquiries only with proof of funds.  I may buy your real estate (condo, house, land) and pay you the difference.
