Wali Ali is no stranger to the music world. He helped as a lead Guitarist The Temptations, Eddie Kendricks, Teena Marie, Rick James & Patrice Rushen just to name a few. Wali Ali has toured as guitarist with Marvin Gaye, The Jacksons. Aretha Franklin, and the Undisputed Truth. During his tenure as musical director of the world famous "Cotton Club", Wali was dubbed the "Minister of Music".
In the mid 70s he recorded one of the rarest albums on Jobete records entitled “(Oh I) need your loving”, but it was never released. It was released only as demo. From this ultra rare demo Lp, I have chosen the track “(Oh I) need your loving”. This track was re-recorded by Eddie Kendricks in 1981.
Later he played guitar for Marvin Gaye on the album released in 1978. He sang as a backing vocalist for Norman Connors on the album Invitation in 1979. Also he sang together with Patrice Rushen on the song “Never Gonna Give You Up (Won't Let You Be) “ included on her Posh album from 1980.
The same year Lamont Dozier formed the soul group Zingara. Lamont Dozier found a trio of singers, James Ingram , Lady Bianca and Wali Ali. Lamont Dozier explains: "He was better known around the LA session circuit for his guitar playing than his singing. But he is a fantastic singer, so underrated when you think how feted he is for his guitar work. Zingara recorded one of the best sweet modern soul albums ever on Wheel Records. Wali Ali sang for Zingara two songs, entitled “Gypsy heart” and the ballad “For all of my life”.
The song “For all of my life” was released as a 7 incher (short version) on the same label. Composed and produced by Lamont Dozier.
Unfortunately, Wheel Records ran out of money way before they had a chance to put any promotional muscle behind their release, and the whole Zingara thing fell apart just as quickly as it had come together. In 1981 Wali Ali formed D-West Records. The name, D-West Records was inspired by Iman W. D. Mohammed. The first single to be released by the company was "Images", which produced 10,000 copies. Wali Ali sang for the gospel group "The Bilalian Cultural Foundation". Backing vocals by The Waters Sisters. Arrangement by Wali Ali. Orchestration by Mikal Majied.

A Muslim, sometimes spelled Moslem, relates to a person who follows the religion of Islam, a monotheistic and Abrahamic religion based on the Quran. Muslims consider the Quran to be the verbatim word of God as revealed to the Islamic prophet and messenger Muhammad. They also follow the sunnah teachings and practices of Muhammad as recorded in traditional accounts called hadith. "Muslim" is an Arabic word meaning "one who submits (to God)". A female Muslim is sometimes called a Muslimah. There are customs holding that a man and woman or teenager and adolescent above the age of fifteen of a lunar or solar calendar who possesses the faculties of rationality, logic or sanity, but misses numerous successive Jumu'ahs without a valid excuse, no longer qualifies as a Muslim.
Most Muslims will accept anyone who has publicly pronounced the declaration of faith (shahadah) as a Muslim. The shahadah states:
There is no god but the God and Muhammad is the last messenger of the God.
Islamic beliefs commonly held by Muslims include: that God (Arabic: ????? All?h) is eternal, transcendent and absolutely one (monotheism); that God is incomparable, self-sustaining and neither begets nor was begotten; that Islam is the complete and universal version of a primordial faith that has been revealed before through many prophets including Abraham, Moses, Ishmael and Jesus; that these previous messages and revelations have been partially changed or corrupted over time and that the Qur'an is the final unaltered revelation from God (The Final Testament).
The religious practices of Muslims are enumerated in the Five Pillars of Islam, which, in addition to Shahadah, consist of daily prayers (salat), fasting during the Islamic month of Ramadan (sawm), almsgiving (zakat), and the pilgrimage to Mecca (hajj) at least once in a lifetime.
The word muslim is the participle of the same verb of which isl?m is the infinitive, based on the triliteral S-L-M "to be whole, intact". It is a liturgical phonology that is formed from two components; the pronoun prefix "mu" and the triconsonantal root "slim". A female adherent is a muslima (Arabic: ??????). The plural form in Arabic is muslim?n (??????) or muslim?n (??????), and its feminine equivalent is muslim?t (??????). The Arabic form muslimun is the stem IV participle of the triliteral S-L-M. A female Muslim can variously be called in their etymologically Arabic form of Muslimah, also spelled Muslima, Muslimette, Muslimess or simple the standard term of Muslim. General alternative epithets or designations given to Muslims include mosquegoer, masjidgoer, or archaic, dated and obsolete terms such as Muslimite or Muslimist.
The ordinary word in English is "Muslim". It is sometimes transliterated as "Moslem", which is an older spelling. The word Mosalman (Persian: ????????, alternatively Mussalman) is a common equivalent for Muslim used in Central Asia. Until at least the mid-1960s, many English-language writers used the term Mohammedans or Mahometans. Although such terms were not necessarily intended to be pejorative, Muslims argue that the terms are offensive because they allegedly imply that Muslims worship Muhammad rather than God.
