Vintage original 8x10 in. U.S. single-weight glossy photograph from the 1940's drama, YOUNG PEOPLE, released in 1940 by 20th Century-Fox and directed by Allan Dwan. This was Shirley's last film on her 20th Century-Fox contract (aged 12). Her parents (Jack Oakie and Charlotte Greenwood) decide to retire from show biz so she can have a normal life. They are unwelcome in the small town until a storm lets the family show their stuff. Clips from earlier films fill in Shirley's background.

The image features an interior medium shot of Kit Ballantine (Charlotte Greenwood) watching her husband, Joe (Jack Oakie), who appears deep in thought as the couple sit inside a large bedroom in their home Oakie is wearing work clothes consisting of overalls and a red plaid shirt with a kerchief. Printed on single-weight stock with a glossy finish, this vintage original photograph is in very fine+ condition with only a light 1 in. diagonal crease on the top border to the right of center which just barely enters the background area and a light 0.75 in. horizontal crease just beneath the top border in the image area closer to the right corner. The image quality is razor-sharp and features much richer contrast with deep blacks and nice halftones than they appear in the accompanying scan.
