PLEASE - DO NOT DO, AS A GUY JUST DID IN NOV 2018, AND TURN ME IN AS A SCAMMER AND CAUSE ME MUCH LOSS OF TIME FIXING. READ MY SECTION - THE DEAL WITH DOWNLOADS.

THE DEAL WITH DOWNLOADS: Summary of the problem, ETSY allows only 5-6 mb for a file size, our files are VIDEO therefore 35 mb - 1 gig in size. So, you CANNOT get them instant via etsy, WE must send them to you, and if you CHOOSE NOT TO read this information, you won't get the files.
PART 1: GETTING THE FILES VIA ETSY - NOT AS FAST AS YOU WOULD EXPECT. But here is HOW to get them.
WHEN YOU BUY AND DOWNLOAD, YOU WILL RECEIVE A GENERIC PHOTO-IMAGE COUPON WITH MY EMAIL ADDRESS, EMAIL ME AND TELL ME
1. YOUR FULL NAME AND ETSY USER NAME [for example Hans Anderson with username of Hansy],
2. WHAT DID YOU BUY???? [that information is not relayed clearly etsy in my email notice. So it's best to email me, not ETSY MAIL ME.
3. WHEN did you buy it?
4. The email address you wish to receive the Files Link to.
5. When I see your email, I will send you a link to download the file.
-that's the process-
[Why this info???? Because I get reports from "attempted theives" all the time, telling me they didn't get the files they ordered, when they didn't order at all, sorry...but it's required].
Etsy CANNOT send the files to you, because ETSY only provided enough storage space for text, stories, and small photos. THAT is why you have to email me. Also you may also receive help documents that I have made, in the form of jpeg or text. If I place them with the listing. So download anything that's there, once you buy.
The email address you use, to email me, is WHERE the link will go. Understand that just like MAIL and Packages gets lost, the Internet DOES NOT ALWAYS WORK. PERIOD!!!! So at times, I might need to try a different email address for you. Reason??? Numerous differences in Internet Providers, Routers, Ages of Computers, there are 100 reasons why a file might not make it to you. This is RARE, but it does happen every year, most of the time they make it, but not in a Billion years will this problem ever be solved, until there's Just One Computer System.
If you DO NOT CHECK the email you sent me, you are not going to get the files. If you have a very active Junk Folder, the link might go in there. So check that, before assuming I didn't send it. This problem is reported to me monthly by someone.
Your email might not make it to me: SURE...Of Course. How can every part of the internet work every singly minute of the day. It can't. In my history of email, since 1991....There have been times when an email arrives TWO YEARS LATER. Folks...it happens. So IF you follow the instructions here and don't get an instant response...first wait until 24-48 hours and try me again, or ALSO, contact me on the etsy message box.
HOW FAST DO I SEND FILES??? I try for 24 - 48 hours, NOT INCLUDING SAT and SUNDAY, and not on American Holiday weeks, which include Thanksgiving and Christmas. This is between Sept and Dec. The rest of the year, there is almost no work. I take vacations, and if you order in that time period, contact me to see if I am around - and PLEASE make it all easier for us, CONTACT ETSY AND TELL THEM TO INCREASE THE DIGITAL FILES STORAGE TO 1-2 gigs per file. It is a JOKE feature as it is now, we video artists cannot let customers buy instantly on etsy. Write to them and demand it.
If you don't receive my emailed link, DO NOT ASSUME I AM RIPPING YOU OFF. As many people do, and a guy did as recently as Nov 2018. Don't assume that I'm stealing from you, and that I plan to NOT send the files. Understand Very Clearly, just like the Electric Power goes out sometimes, Cars Don't Start Up, Appliances Break, etc....There is as many as 15,000 miles of Distance, Internet cable, Routers, Switches, Hubs, Relays and Computers between ME and YOU. Sometimes the files don't make it. I'm happy to try to help you out if....
a. You don't get my reply with the Link for Download
b. The link does not work or expires because you didn't do it within 2 weeks.
c. The Files end up not playing [though the solution is usually a Newer Computer, or Media Converter Software]
d. Your Computer Crashes - and you don't get all the files [if more than one].
BUT IF YOU DECIDE TO CONTACT ETSY, PAYPAL, YOUR CREDIT CARD COMPANY, AND CLAIM YOU GOT RIPPED OFF, WITHOUT FIRST CONTACTING ME, AND WAITING FOR MY REPLY - I WILL BE VERY VERY VERY VERY SLOW TO ASSIST YOU. Many customer's first choice is to REPORT THEY HAVE BEEN RIPPED OFF. I do not do that, I AM THEE JON HYERS, THE CREATOR OF VIRTUAL DECOR, I'VE WORKED SINCE 1978 ON VIRTUAL EXPERIMENTS AND DECOR, I AM SOLD BY MORRIS COSTUMES AND HAVE EVEN HAD PRODUCT LICENSED BY WALMART. THEE JON HYERS DOES NOT RIP PEOPLE OFF, PERIOD. I do not accept the behavior of customers who assume I'm doing that, just because 'Most of the time things work perfect". If you cannot behave in a manner, that understands and respect that technology that gets you communication or the Digital Files can have trouble, please don't buy them. I don't need to be spending time, digging myself out of a Grievance or Claim, when I have NOT done anything wrong.
Thanks for your understanding. My direct email is jon.hyers@comcast.net
PART 2: WHAT'S THE DEAL WITH DIFFERENT VIDEO FILES, WHO MADE ALL THAT UP, AND WHY?
The files for The Digital Download vary depending upon when they were produced. Most are HD, and come in Quicktime Movie format, or MPEG4. The original Virtual Santa, being the biggest seller, was made in FIVE formats, though this is the exception, not the Norm. The Norm is MP4 and to a lesser degree, MOV. We are slowly converting all to MPEG4 which is the most modern format. Understand that YOU MAY HAVE TO convert these to go with the MACHINE you plan to play these back from. Not all Computers, Not all USB Drive Media Players, and Not All USB Drive video projectors will play them all, even if they say they will - so you need to be ready to look for Video Converter Software, which is usually free, or you may already own [Quicktime for example], because there exist 200 Video File Formats!!! WHY??? Different companies competing, trying NOT to cooperate, and making life hard for everyone else.
I don't offer file conversion. Our goal is eventually all mp4, but it will take us years to convert it all.
MOV and MP4 formats are very common, and have had very few problems. However, and a Great Big Fat However....with more than 1000 different brand media players, ranging from Computers to Digital Player boxes, and super cheapo $60 dollar projectors - SIMPLY STATED, NOT ALL ARE GOING TO PLAY EVERYTHING, AND MANY WILL NOT PLAY WHAT THEY SAY THE WILL PLAY. Understand CLEARLY that our files are by and large GOOD, very very rarely storage will corrupt a file. In 99.9% of the cases when a customer gets mad and says, 'I CAN'T PLAY THE FILE', it is because their Device is a DUD, or lacks the proper software for playing the common video files. We know that because we download the files and test them again, and find they are good.
We sell the files, and the files are good [or we will fix them], and we do not guarantee any playback in all the devices in the world. What we do is run a movie and FX studio, we don't make equipment, and we don't spend 1 Trillion dollars buying every single piece of equipment to test all combinations of hook up, we just don't do that.
Furthermore, because the old 1980's TV invention of International PAL, SECAM and NTSC formats was so "very sadly" incorporated in to even the latest of Digital TV and Computers - if you are NOT in an NTSC country, you may need to search for an INTL Video Format converter. Yes there is a difference between a PAL [Europe] and a NTSC [USA] video file. Because of the 100 Trillion Dollar cost, to throw away ALL VIDEO and TV EQUIPMENT and start over with just One Format, and type, one Media File format, etc.....these problems will never go away. If you jump forward 1 million years, they will still be with us.
We MUST leave it to YOU THE CUSTOMER to consult with the company or store you bought your PROJECTOR, COMPUTER, or DIGITAL MEDIA PLAYER FROM, or your areas TECH SQUAD or GEEK SQUAD to figure out what your "media player" is missing, and obtain that. If you buy our SPRITE PLAYER, it does best with MP4.
Because this conversion from MOV to MPEG for is being done in our spare time [ in between Shipping and producing new products ], we are NOT at present able to provide more info than this. We suggest very very strongly that you have a Media Converter software. There are 1000's of these. If not using the USA NTSC system, you might need one, and you might not. Less than 1% of customers have any problems. A few very old products, might come with 4-6 file types, and you ONLY need one to play, if other formats don't - it does not matter. BUT the future is going to be MPEG4 for everything when we get all converted. Anything else you need, can either be CUSTOM ORDERED for a quoted fee$$$$, or you do it yourself.
VERY RARELY does anyone if a problem playing a file. The most common cause of a problem is the computer is too old or slow, or you lack a media player software that plays that file type. Or the projector does not. If you get a file that can't play, and you tried all sorts of things, contact me. I will then test that file, and if the file is good, then the problem is either your equipment, OR you might need to try a different browser, Computer, or even computer in a different IP provider.
One example of a problem JON HYERS has. I buy a lot of FX from a MAJOR stock footage company. HUGE!!!! They got lots of good fx and footage, but they will not play on MACS, until they are converted from MP4 - a 2nd time to MP4. Their reason is that the browser running in macs, messes up the file and makes it play slow. So I'm not immune to having download problems. So I use quicktime converter, and mac a new MP4 and it's fine. This is not a MAC PC issue, it's an internet issue. JON HYERS
