This is a vintage original 8x10 in. US single-weight glossy photograph from the Alaskan-themed silent film drama, THE BARRIER, released in 1926 by Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer (MGM) and directed by George W. Hill. Based upon the novel by Rex Beach, years after Alaskan storekeeper Gale Gaylord (Henry B. Walthall) had rescued his ward, Necia (Marceline Day) from Stark Bennett (Lionel Barrymore), her murderous sea-captain father, Bennett shows-up seeking his daughter -- and revenge.
The image features an exterior long shot in front of a wooden building as handsome Meade Burrell (Norman Kerry) sits astride his horse as he instructs Sgt. Murphy (George Cooper) to button the collar of his jacket while the other men stand at attention. This vintage original photograph is in fine condition with small creases of varying sizes on three of the four corner and random signs of light wear in the borders. The image quality is razor-sharp with very fine detail and great contrast.
