This wonderful vintage set of favorite family board games was produced to look like a four volume set of faux green leather bound books. This unique packaging conveniently stores the games which include Acey-Ducey, Asia, Chess and Dominoes. As our pictures reveal, the game sets are in excellent vintage condition, with all game pieces and game boards intact and in full, unfaded color. It appears as if the games were never played with. Note that many of the game pieces are still unpunched from their original cardboard holders. Each game also has the original instructions, which you will note have yellowed with age. The exterior of each book volume / game box is green textured carboard made to resemble faux green leather. Each book volume / game box is also embellished with decorative silver designs, and is marked - also in silver - DE LUXE and the name of the particular game. The corners of the books volumes / game boxes which contain the game sets are in very good vintage condition, with no tears, and no evidence of taping or glue repair. The outer box which stores the book volumes / game boxes is also without tears or evidence of any gluing, taping or other repairs, and is marked DE LUXE Games ALBUM II in silver with some decorative embellishments. But as you can see from the pictures that although clean and solid, there is some loss to the green color along the edges of the outer box from years of handling and storage.
This is a great set for vintage game collectors. Not only do the graphics and colors of the game boards date this game set with its unusual packaging to the late 1940's to the early 1950's, but the games are still in completely playable condition. For those of you serious vintage game board collectors who do not want to risk damage to the games from play, this set is handsome enough to be displayed and admired. (Note the graphics of the game Asia and the vibrant colors of the chess board to see what I mean!)
