From season two, episode 21, INITIATIONS: The remote reaches of space become the setting for rites--and wrongs--of passage when Commander Chakotay journeys from the starship to perform a solitary Indian ritual to honor his deceased father... and then a Kazon youth sets out to earn his warrior status by killing the Federation officer.
The boy, however, proves no match for the starship veteran. Chakotay captures him and, in turn, both he and the boy are taken captive by the Kazons. Because the boy failed his murderous ritual, Kazon leaders sentence him to die... and Chakotay is the appointed executioner. Instead, the two prisoners unite in a bold escape, setting in motion a perilous adventure in which both prove they are more allies than enemies.
Episode 22, NON SEQUITUR: This is your life Harry Kim--and it's not like anything he can remember! The Voyager ensign awakens to discover he's in 24th century San Francisco. Episode 23, PARTURITION: Romantic rivalry over Kes has turned Neelix and Tom Paris into foes who seemingly couldn't get along if their lives depended on it. But now their lives depend very much on teamwork. Janeway sends them on a dangerous away mission to a planet that may have food for the Voyager. The peril's of the shuttlecraft flight don't lessen the pair's bickering. And the planet's stinging trigemic vapors only underscore their clash.
Then the duo finds something that unites them: an abandoned, newborn reptohumanoid. But caring for the baby isn't part of the mission. What's more, their lives will be endangered should the infants parents return. But by reaching out to this helpless creature, the two find a sense of moral purpose that turns their fighting into friendship.
