I believe in 1957 Diamond Match Company issued these front strike match books with classic cars on the covers.  I believe they were sold by the box.  These offered for sale have a little twist.  A prior owner stamped his name on the inside of the cover.  Most of these offered for sale are new.  They do not look pristine as they have been in a box with other items.  I would say they just are not bright white any longer. Only two are duplicates.
