Item description
Friendly sea salt - naturally evaporated sea water. Sea water is brought into a natural estuary several times a year by high moon tides. Here the sun and wind dries it to completeness so all of the sea minerals and organics are present. Result is about 76% sea salt and 24% of other sea minerals, organics, and a little moisture. Result is lower sodium and higher in sea minerals.
Tested and free of microplastics and 149 chemicals such as glyphosate, etc. Nothing added. Pure and unrefined.
A favorite at farmer's markets. Taste the quality difference. Put a very, very small grain in your mouth. It's not just salt. Many naturally present sea minerals and organics enhance flavor, provide additional nutrition, and the organics give it unique flavors and umami.
Superior to common sea salt. Friendly sea salt is 24% "other" sea minerals, etc. You buy sea salt for the "other" sea minerals, yet most sea salt has had some or all of the minerals and organics washed away as they pile it, settled it out in settling ponds, or even chemically removed the other sea minerals. They end up with high salt (sodium chloride) content, lower or no other sea minerals, and no natural sea organics.
Look for yourself. Compare, based on information on their websites: You may not be getting the quality you think you are. People are often surprised by the low quality and premium prices they are paying.
Celtic 5-17% "other" = minerals and moisture
Colima Sea Salt 8.3% "other"
Redmond 2-7% "other"
Less than 3% "other": Pink Himalayan salt, Frontier Coop fleur de sel sea salt, Cyprus Black Mediterranean
Less than 2% "other": Maldon, Fleur De Sel, Real Salt, Bolivian Rose, Costco Pure Sea Salt
less than 1% "other": True Salt; Trader Joe's Sea Salt Crystals, Whole Foods Fine Sea Salt, San Francisco Salt Company, Sicilian Sea Salt, Le Balenine French Fine Sea Salt, Haine Sea Salt, Hawaiian Black Lava, Jacobsen Salt, Amazon Happy Belly Sea Salt
Our sea salt is not ground as fine as common salt. Also, because of its high "other mineral" content, it can gather moisture. Therefore put it in a small convenient container on your counter and table and put a pinch on food as desired. Its quality is too high to work in a regular salt shaker. You can make it into as fine of size or even a powder in about 15 seconds in a blender.
Add 1/4 teaspoon per quart of drinking water to enhance the electrolytes, taste, and daily nutrition.
Due to the thousands of naturally occurring organics from the sea water, this is organic certified.
We use it for eating, baking, canning, fermenting....any place we need salt. But we get so much more than just salt with the sea minerals and organics.
Make "flaked" salt. Put a few grains of coarse salt on a cutting board and smash like a garlic clove. Then sprinkle on food.
