Item description
The Nippon* Hand Painted Porcelain Decorative Bowl is an antique original piece from Japan, dating back to the late 19th century. Crafted from porcelain, it features intricate gold embossed foliage. This beautifully hand-painted bowl showcases the artistry and craftsmanship of Japanese design during that time period, making it a unique and charming addition to any collection. The cherry blossom mark above the word Nippon indicates the factory, the decorator, or the exporter. In this case, most likely, The Myriad Trading Company. Plate stand not included.
There is a small black spot on the base of the bowl. See photo.
*"Nippon" markings on porcelain indicate that it is Japanese, as "Nippon" is the Japanese word for Japan. These pieces were first marked with "Nippon" around 1891 to comply with the 1890 McKinley Tariff Act in the United States, which required imported goods to be marked with their country of origin. Most Nippon-marked porcelain was made between 1891 and 1921,
