Item description
Natural Uranium Rock
COFFINITE
Weight: 0.7 oz. Radiation: 35,500 cpm (counts-per-minute)
This rock was collected at Jurassic Canyon NM
during July 2025. It is small, but its
reactivity of 35,500 CPM is at the upper range
of medium level; 40,000. cpm is high level
measurement for a rock. (Processed radiation
levels for medical, industrial, or military
applications are much higher than for natural
radioactivity found uranium rocks.)
The name of COFFINITE triggers some jokes
from buyers. Some buyers think that the
name refers somehow to a burial box for a
dead rockhounder; or, that the discoverer of
this type of uranium mineral had a brief
lifetime. Wrong! The mineral rock is named
after its scientific discoverer, but this
geologist lived to the ripe old age of 86 years,
which would be a full lifetime in everyone's
opinion.
Look at all my rocks displayed in this Bonanza
ad; I suggest that you buy two or more rocks
from my ads. By shipping all the purchased
rocks COMBINED in one package, then I will
REFUND the total amount OVERPAID to the
buyer's PayPal account, quickly after the
combined package has been mailed.
