Item description
Reproduction Leyland Line Shipping Officers hat badge SS California.
SS Californian was a British Leyland Line steamship. She is thought to have been the only ship within sight of RMS Titanic, or at least her rockets, during that ship's sinking. The crew took no action to assist.
Perfect For:
Titanic, Shipping Maritime Collectors.
Cap Hat Restorations.
Gifts and presentations.
Re-enactment Living History.
During WW1 she was responsible for transporting equipment and troops for the Allies during the 1915 Gallipoli campaign. On the 9th of November 1915 she was torpedoed by German U-boat SM U-34 SM-35 and eventually sunk by a French ship as she was deemed to be a hazard to shipping.
This reproduction is an officers cap badge most likely worn between the 1890's and the 1930's. It is approximately 87mm wide and 55mm tall. The cap in the picture is not for sale.
