On first impression, the color look blue, but on closer inspection of the polished chip beads they are amethyst purple - yum! (Don’t leave them in a window or in the sun which will make them fade which is often what we are seeing – some people probably prefer it a lighter or more mauve shade.) A double strand of 17 ” length (35” of wonderful!) with ribbed (corrugated) looking end caps. Then the 5 ” drop tassel; a big ribbed bead, then the cool tassel cap which gathers four 3” strands of the same beads as the necklace. It is equipped with a lobster clasp, but most often you would just put it on overhead. The matching clip earrings of the same color of metal have an 7/8” x 5/8” x ” deep oval cluster of polished chips at the center. Overall size of the clips are 1 ” x 1 ”; still equipped with ear cushions. The back read JAN MICHAELS San Francisco in the round. This is a good reason for not breaking up sets as the spectacular necklace in not signed in any way! Only the earrings are – the necklace probably had a hang tag originally, but there is no evidence (a ring) that there was – often the owner/wearer removes it. I noticed that in newer creations, it acts as a link in the chain. All pieces are in excellent, un-worn, pre-owned condition. This will flatter nearly every body shape or figure! Just gorgeous!
