I loved this series as a kid and was disappointed that Disney never released the full series. So, I'm very grateful to find it here. While the first 3 episodes have been remastered, the others are VHS quality, as Disney never released them on DVD. Some are black and white, while others are in color. Truth be told, I like the black and white better. The volume varies from disc to disc, but that's expected. The sound is decent quality, as is the picture, even if it's a bit grainy being a VHS dub. Overall. This is a great buy and I would recommend this to anyone who likes Disney movies based off historical persons.

This wonderful Thames documentary of Hollywood's silent era is probably the best one I have seen. Kudos to Kevin Brownlow and his team for creating such a detailed vision of this lost age in film history with the marvelous James Mason as the narrator.

The story was really interesting. I think this DVD set is a really good deal, considering most can cost up to $50 without a free gift. Best anime I have watched in a long time. Thanks for the awesome deal!

Great movie!! Watched it when it 1st came out/ enjoyed it the 2nd time around. Happy 2 add it 2 my dvd collection.

Underrated movie with terrific performances by Michael J Fox and Joan Jett. I will be watching this movie for a long time to come.

This documentary is both important and very hard to find. Thus, I was very pleased to see it available in this way. I couldn't be more pleased

I remember watching this documentary series as a kid back when it first was released in 1980. I was already a classic movie fan, but this documentary offers insight on the people and films that have long been lost. You'll see samples of films that no longer exist, and evidence of just how technically advanced some silent films were in the area of special effects. We seem to dismiss silent films because of the lack of sound, but that is a mistake. There were many incredibly talented and innovative people creating masterpieces during this era.

It’s been a great gift, we watch an episode every evening. Now with this snow storm we may even have an afternoon matinee .
