Item description

Vintage original 8 x 10 in. US single-weight glossy photograph from the Latin-themed musical comedy, PEPE, released in 1960 by Columbia Pictures and directed by George Sidney. The image features a candid on-set shot taken during a break in filming and depicts cast member Ernie Kovacs (as an "Immigration Inspector") as he sits in his directors chair and looks over his shoulder at the view while seated behind the back of a set. As per the rubber stamp on the verso, this photograph was taken by St. Hilaire and is in fine+ condition. The young Mexican Pepe's beloved horse is sold to Hollywood star Ted Holt, leading to Pepe's journey to Hollywood to get the horse back, and Pepe's encounter with half the stars working in Hollywood at the time.
